Will-Based Estate Plan

A foundational plan for distributing assets and appointing guardians.

A will-based plan provides clear instructions for how your assets should be distributed after your passing. It allows you to name guardians for minor children, specify beneficiaries, and appoint an executor to manage your estate.

This type of plan typically involves the probate process—a court-supervised procedure that ensures your wishes are carried out. While it may take time and become part of the public record, a will is a straightforward tool that brings peace of mind and legal clarity.

BEST FOR

Individuals or couples with straightforward estates

Those seeking a cost-effective planning option

Anyone who hasn’t yet created an estate plan

Trust-Based Estate Plan

Comprehensive planning with greater privacy and flexibility

A trust-based plan includes a revocable living trust that allows your estate to avoid probate, keeping your affairs private and potentially speeding up the distribution process.

It provides greater control over when and how your assets are distributed and can help with incapacity planning.

With a trust, you can prepare for a range of life events and ensure someone you trust can act on your behalf if needed. This approach offers long-term flexibility, efficiency, and peace of mind.

BEST FOR

Those with real estate or larger estates

 Individuals seeking to avoid probate
